Dual Action Polisher
Working Principle
DA polisher features a fixed axis and an oscillating axis. It achieves scratch repair through a dual-action random orbital motion that combines vibration and rotation. Common measurements such as 5mm, 8mm, and 12mm refer to the distance between the oscillating axis and the fixed axis, known as the eccentricity.

Advantages
Since it does not operate at high speed concentrated on a single point, it rarely leaves swirl marks. Additionally, its trajectory changes with each rotation, resulting in lower paint surface temperature, reduced risk of paint burn-through, and higher safety. It is versatile for both abrasive polishing and hologram removal, making it suitable for beginners and DIY enthusiasts.
Disadvantages
Compared to rotary polishers, it has weaker cutting power and lower work efficiency. Moreover, the machine is usually more expensive, with higher maintenance costs.
Application Scenarios
It is mainly used in car detailing, floor care, and similar scenarios. It can easily remove small scratches from car surfaces, restoring the paint to a like-new finish. For floor care, its high-speed mode enables efficient polishing, revitalizing the floor's shine.
Speed Regulation
Some DA polishers offer user-friendly speed adjustment, allowing for optimal speed settings based on different usage scenarios. For example, when waxing a car, a low-speed mode can be used to ensure even application without damaging the paint.
Model Selection
There are various DA polisher models available on the market, with common specifications including 15mm and 21mm. Theoretically, the 21mm model has stronger cutting power than the 15mm one; in practice, the 21mm model typically offers advantages in both cutting performance and efficiency.
Matching Accessories
It can be paired with polishing pads of different cutting strengths to achieve varying polishing effects. Generally, the backing plate size is 0.5 inches smaller than the polishing pad. For instance, the 7424XP model comes with a 5-inch balance weight by default, which is suitable for 6-inch polishing pads, with a corresponding backing plate size of 5.5 inches.
